Technology has become an important component of the modern dental practice. The advent of dental practice management software, intraoral cameras, digital radiography, and digital imaging has completely changed the look and feel of a dental office. Dr. Halbleib’s goal has always been to achieve superior dentistry through the best technology available. New advances have allowed him to become more efficient and productive. Here are some of the ways that he has integrated technology into his dental practice:

radiography
Dr. Halbleib has been using digital radiographs since 2000 and have found them to be very effective. They eliminate the need for developing chemicals, shorten the time for processing, cut radiation by 50% to 75% (depending on which type is needed), and lower costs, which is passed on to you. And if you ever need a copy of your x-rays, they are just a simple e-mail away!

A laser is a device that generates a beam of concentrated light. This beam of light brings energy into your mouth to remove areas of infection or decay with great precision and accuracy. The laser beam sterilizes the affected area and seals off blood vessels, which minimizes the chance of infection or bleeding. Laser dental patients are much more comfortable both during and after treatment. That is because, in many instances, the need for anesthetic injections is reduced and in some instances eliminated, as well as any associated side effects. Patients spend less time in the dental chair because of this. Dr. Halbleib uses a Hoya ConBio VersaWave laser. For all you physicists out there, this is an Erbium Yag laser that operates at 2940.nm.

The ShadeVision System is designed to take the guesswork out of measuring and communicating tooth shades. It allows the laboratory to get an exact match when fabricating your custom ceramics. . . and not just for the tooth that is being replaced, but for the surrounding teeth also.

Computers have permeated every aspect of dentistry. Dr. Halbleib has a fully computerized office. According to a recent poll, only 1/3 of dental offices have computers in their operatories. Dr. Halbleib has a computer in every operatory for viewing x-rays. His staff uses Dentrixdental software to keep track of all your dental records and appointments.

Have you ever had a dentist try to explain treatment to you and not really understand what needed to be done? The use of intra oral cameras eliminates that confusion by showing you what needs to be done. The sayings are true, a picture is worth a thousand words and seeing is believing. Dr. Halbleib wants you to be an informed consumer and uses intra oral cameras to help you achieve that.

Dr. Halbleib and his associates employ the use of a Ziess surgical microscope as well as other scope tools to provide you with the best possible treatment and the best possible results.
